Mahasthangarh : A sign of earlier age urban archeology

Mahasthangarh is an earliest urban archeological site so far discovered in Bangladesh.It is situated in the village named Shibganj in Bogra.The remaining of an ancient city which was called Pundranagara or Paundravardhanapura in the territory of Pundravardhan is this Mahasthangarh.Mahasthan means a place that has an excellent sanctity and Ghar means fort.Below are some pictures of the Mahasthangarh:

  1. My dear, the first picture is of Paharpur Mahavihara, not Mahasthangarh. About the forth picture, it is not stair, but a wall.
