The new year day of Bangladesh is called 'Pohela Boishakh' which means the first day of the Benglai Month Boishakh.All the people in Bangladesh celebrates this day with full rhythm.There is a park named Ramna Park in the capital Dhaka,where from the very beginning of the morning singers start singing "Rabindra Sangeet"(songs written and music given by Rabindra Nath Tagore) under a banyan tree.People wear new dress.Male wears Panjabi and Paijama.Female wears saree and all the sarees are designed in while and red.
There is a traditional food named "Panta Vaat"(rice with water) which is the traditional food in this day.People eat this with Ilsha fish fry.
